Lil Perspective Shift

Today, a friend asked me if I was going to an event later tonight. I almost responded “Yeah, if I can get a sitter.” Then I decided to answer “I won’t be there. I have another commitment.” And I do. My children/ being a mom.

And just like that, my perspective went from powerless to powerful, victim to victor. In those moments when motherhood feels like it takes up all your time, mental and emotional space, we have an opportunity to choose a different narrative. We can choose motherhood over and over again. We can alchemize our thoughts, words, actions whenever we say so.
