Pussy Power

(This is transcribed from a voice note I made, Summer 2020. I’m not sure what prompted it, but I was on one at the moment).

The pussy has power that has withstood the test of time.

Men, young and old, are enthralled with her, intrigued by her, sometimes whipped by her. She’s actually the motivation for a lot of their actions, their possessions, their movements.

And this is the power I think they are trying to recreate in their own ways with their forceful patriarchy- and all the ideals they disseminate about their actual power. The power they have to say out loud, write into laws, pass down in ideologies. Unlike the power we wield without saying a word. Subtle strength.

Awww, look at man, trying to assert power! Just physical power, is that all you have? Any mysticism in there? Can you straddle the spirit and physical worlds and bring forth new life? Can you and your man friends “sync up” when you’re around each other long enough? Do you have physiological cycles that match the duration of cycles of the Moon? Excuse my condescending tone. I must’ve learned that somewhere.

You’ve coined a term penis-envy, but I think it’s actually pussy envy. 

There are few things that make me think differently. 

We still love and need you just the same.
