Motherhood, The Sunken Place

The early days of motherhood is a type of sunken place where pieces of yourself become unrecognizable.

Where the giving of yourself, your whole self, is your entry. You must fight to regain the pieces that were lost. Some may never come back.

Rediscover who you once were and emerge who you will be- as mother, as yourself.

A shell of yourself is gone while there is simultaneously the molding of a new person emerging. Birth is a rite of passage.

Just as a child is born, so too is the mother.

Revel in your accomplishment, dear mother. And fight for what you need, fight to find yourself.
